Dr. Allan Sioson presented a paper entitled 'Experiences on the use of Automatic C++ solution grader system' in the 4th International Conference on Information, Intelligence, Systems, and Applications (IISA 2013) held in the University of Piraeus, Piraeus-Athens, Greece last July 10 to 12, 2013.  The paper described an analysis of the frequency of submissions, similarity of submitted solutions, categories of problems, and prospects on how to achieve an effective delivery of instruction when using an automatic C++ solution grader system.

CCS Dean is member of Philippine delegation to Seoul Accord General Meeting

Dr. Allan Sioson, Dean of the College of Computer Studies, attended the recently concluded Seoul Accord General Meeting (SAGM 2013) in Seoul, South Korea.  Dr. Sioson's travel is funded by the Computing Society of the Philippines (CSP), in his capacity as CSP President and founding Board Member of the Philippine Information and Computing Accreditation Board (PICAB). Dr. Randy Gamboa and Dr. Bartolome Tanguilig of the Philippine Society of IT Educators (PSITE) and Edmundo Casino and Rolly Corpus of the Philippine Computer Society (PCS) complete the Philippine delegation. PICAB is a consortium of CSP, PCS, PSITE and PSIA (Philippine Software Industry Alliance).

Jenilyn L. Agapito, DCS's new Chair

The Faculty members of the Department of Computer Science welcome Ms. Jenilyn L. Agapito as their new Chair.  Ms. agapito earned her Master of Science degree in Computer Science from the Ateneo de Manila University, Loyola Heights, Quezon City in 2011. She worked with Dr. Rodrigo of Ateneo de Manila University on various Affective Computing projects.  She has been teaching in the Department of Computer Science since November 2007. Ms. Agapito officially starts her two year term as DCS Chair today, April 1, 2013.

We express our heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Froilan Rojano for his 2 years of dedicated service as DCS Chair.  Mr. Rojano has been appointed as Director of Management Information Systems Office of ADNU.

 

DCS welcomes back Ms. Aureus and Mr. Pajarillo

The Department of Computer Science welcomes back Ms. Jelly P. Aureus and Mr. Adrian Leo T. Pajarillo. They recently finished their Master of Science in Computer Science degree at the Ateneo de Manila University, Loyola Heights, Quezon City.  They are back to teach computing science subjects starting the first semester of School Year 2013-2014.

Mr. Pajarillo is the new moderator of TACTICS (The Ateneo Consortium of Technological Information and Computing Sciences), DCS's co-curricular organization.

 

AdNU CS Faculty to Present Papers in NCITE 2012

Faculty members from the Department of Computer Science of Ateneo de Naga University will present their papers in the 10th National Conference on Information Technology Education (NCITE 2012) organized by the Philippine Society of Information Technology Educators. The event will be held at Laoag, Ilocos Norte on 18 to 20 October 2012.
